Dyslexia can be a very debilitating disorder if help isn't given, but in a society where 5 year olds are drugged with stimulants because they're not mature enough you can imagine that the disorder might be, let's say, overused a little.

Christ, when I was in school I once got told, to my complete surprise, that I was dyslexic; this is despite the fact I can read perfectly well, display none of the symptoms, and have never been formally tested! Current guidelines on assessing whether children have dyslexia are bullshit; I mean honestly, some kids are just thick.

Anyway, help raise dyslexia awareness :)

I have it ,alil. I agree that's it's not all "not being able to spell" but i do confuse me "p"s, "b"s, etc when i type and read sometimes.

some people do seem awfully keen to self-diagnose themselves/their children, which (in my opinion) cheapens what the real sufferers have to deal with. stupid people :no:

The trouble is that in schools having a linguistic IQ score 60% below that of other types of IQ scores means you're classified as dyslexic. Why they can't just call kids thick is beyond me!
